Video formats supported

Castlify can distribute live streams and pre-recorded video sources to your destinations using a Video Stream Link.

If you want to send a live feed from OBS, vMix, Zoom, or another encoder, use an RTMP stream instead. See Create a stream from an RTMP live encoder.

Live stream links (24/7 channels and live events)

Castlify supports these live input links:

• HLS (.m3u8)

• MPEG-DASH (.mpd)

Notes

• The link must be reachable and valid.

• Some URLs expire or require tokens/headers. If your link changes often, generate a fresh one.

Pre-recorded video links (file inputs)

Castlify supports using pre-recorded video files, such as:

• MP4

• MOV

• AVI

• WebM

• (and other common video containers)

When you add a pre-recorded video as input, Castlify outputs it as a live stream to your destinations.

By default, pre-recorded videos run as a 24/7 live loop. This is ideal for always-on channels or simple playout.
