What is Castlify?

Castlify helps you distribute a video stream to one or multiple live destinations without running extra streaming infrastructure.

When to use Castlify

Use Castlify if you already have a video stream or compatible video input, and you want to send it to:

  • RTMP destinations (YouTube Live, Facebook Live, Twitch, and many others)

  • SRT destinations (for contribution-style endpoints or professional workflows)

You can start with either of these input methods:

  • Video Stream Link: use an existing HLS, DASH, or compatible video source.

  • RTMP: send a live feed from OBS, vMix, Zoom, or another RTMP-compatible encoder.

What you need to get started

Choose the input method that matches your workflow.

Video Stream Link

Have a supported video source ready, such as:

  • An HLS input URL (a link ending in .m3u8)

  • A DASH input URL (a link ending in .mpd)

  • An MP4 or other compatible video source, depending on your workflow.

You can see more information in Video formats supported.

RTMP

Have an RTMP-compatible encoder ready, such as:

  • OBS Studio

  • vMix

  • Zoom

  • Another encoder that supports RTMP

Castlify provides the RTMP Server and Stream Key you need to configure your encoder.

You also need at least one destination (RTMP or SRT) to distribute your stream.

How Castlify works

Castlify supports two types of video input:

Video Stream Link → Castlify → RTMP/SRT destinations

or

Live Encoder → RTMP → Castlify → RTMP/SRT destinations

You can start with one destination and add more later.
